Muladhara

Beginning with the coccygeal body, we bring awareness to the space above the tailbone, using a ball as a tactile doorway into sensation and the breath as an anchor. We allow time for the body to arrive, gradually awakening movement from this deep centre. From here, the legs begin to reach, cross, and twist, exploring the relationship between the root, the earth, and the central axis of the body. We attune to the shifting qualities of activation and settling, exploring the potential for a more integrated, responsive state. Reaching into the back body, we discover how the root supports the whole centre line before gradually expanding into deeper spinal movements. Weight shifts through the feet, with the tail acting as a point of orientation and support. Pulsations, flowing asana, and rhythmic movement build and circulate energy through the body, allowing the practice to move from grounded awareness into a more dynamic expression. We finish by returning to stillness and the meditative qualities of Mūlādhāra—root, support, presence, and our relationship to the earth. So hum mantra to close.
